Founded in 1991 to enable telecom providers to deliver services quickly, seamlessly and profitably, Sunrise Telecom soon became a pioneer in DSL testing, made bold advancements in cable and optical network analysis, and introduced the world’s first VDSL field testing solution. Fifteen years later, we are still breaking new ground with innovative solutions for changing networks, from FTTx to metro area networks (MAN) to the next telecommunications revolution.

Having established ourselves early on as the leader in DSL testing, Sunrise Telecom acquired cable testing companies Hukk Engineering and Avantron Technologies, which put us in prime position to guide our customers through the convergence of voice, video and data. In early 2002, we acquired the CaLan cable television testing company from Agilent Technologies, confirming our place at cable broadband’s leading edge. Our acquisition of the Italian signaling protocol company, Pro.Tel, rounded out our technology skill set with solutions for packet-based delivery of advanced services.
This comprehensive range of product offerings and expertise is ensuring Sunrise Telecom customers complete the triple play and meet the demand for bundled, next-generation services. In response to increasing network bottlenecks in metropolitan areas, we have also developed metro area network (MAN) testing solutions to facilitate fast, cost-effective deployment of metro Ethernet. And as experts in DSL, Sunrise Telecom is now pioneering dual-ended VDSL testing solutions for FTTx construction, installation and repair for reliable and economical delivery of high-quality video. Sunrise Telecom is the choice of Tier 1 communications providers today, with more than 2,000 customers in over 65 countries. In 2005, we opened sales offices in China, Mexico, France and Spain as well as an R&D center in Beijing, and now employ over 540 people worldwide.
