VDSL, Very high speed Digital Subscriber Line, is considered to be the next step for network service providers in delivering triple-play services: voice, data, and video. VDSL is currently capable of delivering vast amounts of payload over the existing copper infrastructure, such as 100 Mbps for MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) and 30 Mbps for FTTN (Fiber to the Node) applications.

Several factors pose new challenges for pre-qualifying and maintaining the copper plant for VDSL service: the usage of high frequency bands and the harmful effects of short bridge taps. Existing copper maintenance tools are not adequate to properly test cable for VDSL.
The SunSet MTT offers a complete package for testing VDSL. The SunSet MTT ACM II chassis provides copper maintenance tests tailored for VDSL applications. The VTU-R module facilitates successful installations by verifying VDSL service and performance from the customer site.
