Delivering voice, data, and video services over next generation fiber optic networks requires efficient testing to ensure network performance, especially at higher data rates, where dispersion can radically impair performance. Sunrise Telecom’s STT DTM (Dispersion Test Module) allows service technicians to test and monitor two types of dispersion simultaneously with a single instrument.

The DTM allows technicians to accurately measure both chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in the C+L bands, in fiber spans of up to 200 km. The DTM improves CD measurement accuracy with the ability to measure CD at 50 different wavelengths. Easy to use, simply plug in the DTM source at one end of the link to be tested, connect the receiver at the other, and you are ready for a complete dispersion measurement of the single-mode fiber in less than one minute.
