Return Path Testing Online Seminar

To view the seminar you will need a 56K connection or better, a sound board, speakers and a Real Media Player Version G2, 7.0 or better. If you don't have a copy of either of these Real Media Players you can download a free copy by clicking below. If you don't know if the computer you are using has the player, try the link anyway and if you don't have the right player a dialog box will tell you.

This seminar lasts about 9 minutes and provides a detailed overview of the differences between testing the forward and return path, characteristics of return path signals and ingress, using a spectrum analzyer display to track down ingress, theory of the zero span display, and using the zero span display to view fast transient signals such as cable modems and transient ingress. You can watch the seminar through and the pages will automatically change with the audio. If you want to move back or forth in the seminar you can use the slider control at the top of the window to move anywhere in the seminar.

If you find you are having trouble viewing the seminar, or the audio breaks up periodically then you are experiencing heavy Internet traffic. You can try again later or you can download the entire Real Media file and play it locally from your hard drive. The download file is zipped so you will need a program such as Winzip to decompress it.

To play the file locally open the file using your unzipping program and extract the file. Run your Real Player by using the Start menu and click file and open. Select the folder where you extracted the file and run returnsem.smil.
