| SDH, PDH, T-carrier, Jitter, Wander, Pulse Mask,
service verification, and ATM Testing capabilities are now available in a powerful, compact, and comprehensive handheld test set - the SunSet SDH. The SDH is perfect for bringing new circuits into service and troubleshooting problems with in-service circuits in the field. |
The SunSet SDH is the latest generation
of access and metro network test sets
from Sunrise Telecom, the industry
leader in the design of handheld service
verification equipment. A single
package offers 2 Mbit/s to 2.5 Gbit/s
testing with advanced applications for SDH networks. Along
with this complete set of transmission
tests come all the tools needed to
verify and troubleshoot ATM, GSM,
GPRS, Frame Relay, ISDN, V.5x, and Voice.
The SunSet SDH increases efficiency,
consolidates training, and saves money
by testing all these rates and services.
Among handheld sets, only the SunSet
SDH has the feature set to ensure
quality connections across the entire
access network and verify that the
quality of network synchronization
meets ITU-T standards by performing
Jitter and Wander measurements.
Highlights

Bringing solutions to your SDH/PDH access
and metropolitan networks
- Verify successful point to point transmission on new circuits.
- Troubleshoot problems on existing circuits.
- Identify network synchronization problems by monitoring timing from different network elements with the External Clock Port. Clock slips, wander and frequency measurements can be done with a precise and accurate frequency reference source connected to the unit.
Monitor presence of jitter in the
network to verify conformance to ITU-T limits.
Monitor, Decode and control SDH overhead bytes. Path Trace Identifiers, APS signaling bytes, S1byte with synchronization messages, signal label bytes (C2 or V5) can be decoded per
ITU-T recommendations.
Troubleshoot your SDH network routing and switching by generating path traces identifiers with a 16 or 64 bytes sequences, and by detecting Tracer Identifier Mismatch alarms (HP or LP).
Monitor Pointer Value changes to verify pointer activity which can be caused by timing differences in the network.
Measure APS/MSP switching timing after a failure condition is detected by the network.
Test network elements such as PTE's, ADM's or
DCS's by using dual physical ports to verify mapping/demapping process by inserting/dropping PDT/T-carrier signals to/from the SDH signal
Verify transparency of the payload through the network by measuring error performance according to ITU-T G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, M.2100, M.2101 and M.2110 standards.
ATM testing capabilities include traffic generation, cell capture and decode, and traffic supervision and statistics.
Access a 64
kbit/s
Voice Frequency channel from a STM-1 access point by using units internal demapping capabilities.
PDH In-service measurements can also be done for maintenance of legacy networks.
