Sunrise Telecom, a provider of test and measurement solutions for telecom, cable and wireless networks, has announced the launch of its new IntelliSAM Carrier Ethernet Service Activation Test Suite. The solution is based on the ITU Y.1564 standard that was formerly known as Y.156sam, and adopts an advanced test methodology to comply with service activation. It has also been customized for the bandwidth profile parameters being sold.
With the help of IntelliSAM, service providers will be able to conveniently verify the service configuration and performance that they are offering to their customers. The solution is a comprehensive suite of tests available to fulfill the needs of the Carrier Ethernet services.
Service providers worldwide have been facing a consistent challenge to comply with more stringent service level agreements or ‘SLAs’ for their customers, as the Carrier Ethernet is being adopted on mass levels. They have to verify the Ethernet services provided by them for successfully ensuring these SLAs; and the committed burst size or ‘CBS’ and excess burst size or ‘EBS’ tests offered by IntelliSAM are among the firsts in the industry that can generate bursty traffic in a Carrier Ethernet test suite.
IntelliSAM offers a number of enhanced tools to the service providers that help them in verifying SLAs, eliminating the laborious and excessive test permutations that had been established by the older test methodologies. The solution also enables them to test multiple streams and test each frame on a consistent basis to enhance the latency tests.
“Sunrise Telecom is committed to providing its customers with solutions that increase productivity for Carrier Ethernet service activation, and the support of this new standard is the next step to achieving this,” commented Bahaa Moukadam, chief executive officer at Sunrise Telecom. “Through continued innovation, we play an integral role in delivering the latest test and measurement solutions available today. Providing the most complete SLA test suite for Carrier Ethernet is no exception.”
In October 2010, Sunrise Telecom, Inc. announced the launch of CM3800, a new cable network analyzer. Apart from offering enhanced field spectrum analysis, the new solution also enables the essential testing of DOCSIS 3.0 networks to help cable operators in their efforts to grow their market share for broadband services delivered to small- and medium-sized businesses.
