Test and measurement solutions provider Sunrise Telecom has introduced realGATE, a new management system for its broadband test sets, including the CM1000, CM2000 and the CM2000E.
The Web-based system, which will be available in April, gives technicians and operators a field testing solution that feeds into a central data repository, so network issues can be discovered and resolved faster. By having all current and historical information at their fingertips, technicians can isolate problems more quickly and costly truck rolls can be reduced.
Uploaded test results are made available to any technician as a reference point for addressing future service activations or repairs. All data is stored in a MySQL open source database, which means realGATE can be easily integrated with workforce software, billing systems and other third party applications. What’s more, new firmware can be downloaded to the field providing the latest enhancements and configurations.
The system is ideal for operators already using Sunrise Telecom’s test solutions, as well as for managers and supervisors who require field data to manage operations and field teams more effectively.
“Ensuring your field technicians have the latest tools to diagnose and correct broadband and digital voice service issues is critical to achieving customer satisfaction and keeping operational costs in check,” said Jeff Heynen, directing analyst, broadband and video, Infonetics Research, in a release.
“As new services and technologies are deployed over broadband networks, testing and monitoring become more complex,” adds Bahaa Moukadam (News - Alert), Sunrise Telecom's vice president of marketing. “Multiple truck rolls and extensive correlation and analysis can add time and costs to network management and service deployment. RealGATE provides a 360 degree view that improves field operations, ensures state-of-the-art testing and enables managers to streamline operations to improve efficiency.”
Sunrise Telecom made news in January when it announced that it had completed divestiture of its Protocol Products Group (PPG) to LTE (News - Alert) Innovations for approximately $10 million in cash. The company also announced it had completed the divestiture of its OTDR business in Switzerland, which it sold to its former managers.
In February it was announced that Sunrise Telecom Protocol Products Group and LTE Innovations had merged to form Accanto Systems.
