Sunrise Telecom is introducing its RxT "smart productivity" test platform, which the vendor says is the first fully connected, workflow-optimized test platform to improve field productivity for telecom, cable and mobile operators.
The touchscreen device was revealed at the CeBIT show last week in Germany.
Even with increasingly complex and overloaded networks, the RxT can help communications service providers reduce capex and opex and can aid them in delivering high-quality subscriber services.
"The RxT is a first-of-breed solution that tackles both the technical and business challenges of CSPs, leading to a quantum leap in workforce productivity improvement, a reduction in operating cost and an improvement in customer retention," says Bahaa Moukadam, Sunrise Telecom's CEO.
Moukadam tells CED that it's "all about the three C's: cost, competition and customer retention Click here!. That's where we come in."

The platform integrates with Sunrise's realGate workflow optimization system, eliminating the need for repeat service calls. Field technicians can e-mail and upload results, access the Web, and transfer files via the RxT's Wi-Fi connection, so no laptop is necessary.
The lightweight, compact platform (it's roughly the size of an iPad) contains a graphical user interface (GUI) with built-in training widgets for technicians. And the RxT is capable of quickly verifying a wide range of advanced technologies.
The RxT also optimizes workflow with the RxT realAccess widget, enabling managers to remotely access the unit and offer guidance to the workforce from anywhere, anytime through a Web browser – even through smartphones.
And the handheld tester contains an Ethernet port, a USB connection, an optional GPS and a stylus.
In Q4, Sunrise introduced the CM3800, a handheld tester for cable operators. A complement to that product is the RxT platform, but Moukadam tells CED that the RxT will eventually house the capacity of the CM3800.
Sunrise Telecom will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this fall.
